MY APPROACH

There are 3 pillars that form the foundation of our work together:

  1. SAFE SPACE:

Wherever you find yourself, you are welcome here. If you’re excited and organizing your birth plan, that’s great. I’ve got resources for that. If your child just turned 2, and life is dark, frustrating, or terrifying — I have been there. If you’re confused, suicidal, or raging — I have been there too. I offer a judgment-free zone where you can be 100% real. I also value your privacy and follow HIPAA Privacy Rule standards. Your safety and confidentiality are my top priorities.

  2. PERSPECTIVE:

Being overwhelmed, sleep-deprived, or caught up in the moment makes it easy to lose sight of the bigger picture and act in ways that don’t serve us or our family. Part of our work together will be to pull back and place your experience within a broader context.

  3. SKILLING UP:

As parents, we are asked to show up over and over again for a seemingly infinite number of challenges. We need soft skills and hard skills, from birth plans and sleep training to connection and repair. I draw on the work of experts like Brené Brown, Gabor Maté, John and Julie Gottman, Janet Lansbury, Marshall Rosenberg, and Harriet Lerner to help you develop skills in communication, presence, and resilience. How do you react to unwanted emotions? Do you have an agreed-up framework for apologies and repair in your relationship? etc. Together, we'll identify where new skills are needed, and we’ll develop those skills and set goals to help you be the husband and father you want to be.
